DSIR recognition is typically granted for a period of **3 years**. Recognized units must apply for renewal before the expiry date to ensure continuation of tax write-offs and customs duty concessions.
Renewal Timelines
The renewal application must be submitted online **at least 3 months** prior to the certificate's expiry. Late submissions are not accepted, resulting in a lapse of R&D benefits and requiring a fresh registration process.
Key Elements of the Renewal Dossier
- Research Progress Report: Details of R&D work accomplished during the recognition period (new variety releases, seed trial outputs, publications, patents).
- Updated Staff Profile: List of current researchers with credentials, joining dates, and direct salary details.
- Equipment Assets List: Detailed log of scientific machinery added during the recognition period.
- Separate Audited Accounts: Certified statement of separate R&D expenditure (capital and revenue) for each year of the recognition period, signed by an independent CA.
