Evaluation Trials
Scientific Multi-Location Field Trials
Before commercializing any hybrid or variety in India, systematic field trials are required to prove agronomic benefit, yield superiority, and disease resistance. We help coordinate and analyze these trials.
Services Offered
- SAU & ICAR Trial Coordination: Document preparation and seed sample submissions for State Agricultural University (SAU) trials and national AICRP trials.
- Multi-Location Trials (MLT): Setting up multi-location trial grids across major crop belts (paddy, cotton, maize, mustard) using randomized designs (RCBD).
- Grow-Out Test (GOT) Purity: Establishing field layouts, population density, and registering morphological observations to confirm genetic purity before packaging.
- Statistical Data Analysis: Organizing raw yield data, executing ANOVA and stability analyses, and compiling technical variety release dossiers.
Variety Release Portfolios
Variety release in India requires coordinating with state sub-committees and central variety release committees. We assist in structuring biological datasets, yield comparison tables, and disease reaction reports to ensure your dossier is technically complete.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Expert answers to common variety trial and genetic purity queries.
What is the difference between SAU and ICAR field trials?
SAU trials are conducted at the state level by State Agricultural Universities to evaluate regional adaptability. ICAR trials are coordinated at the national level (AICRP) across different agro-climatic zones for multi-state notification and release.
How is genetic purity verified in variety releases?
Genetic purity is verified through a Grow-Out Test (GOT). In a GOT, seed samples are grown under controlled conditions alongside parental controls to record and compute off-types based on morphological markers.
